Why is Benjamin Franklin an important figure to study in American History?

I’m writing an essay and I have writer’s block.

Other than all the contributions he has given to society,
why would it be dire to study Benjamin Franklin in
American History classes?

I need ideas…

I am not looking to plagiarize,
I simply have writer’s block
hence I cannot conjure up
any valid points to put forth
in my research paper.
