Why did the USA get increasingly involved in Vietnam?
The situation is that I have a 1000 word History GCSE Coursework essay (first draft) due in tomorrow and very little background knowledge on the subject of Vietnam, seeing as our teacher has been in Russia lately (for some reason). I have a lot of documents that have information on it and a basic guideline for what the paragraphs should contain but it would take me ages to sift through it all to get the info I want and then apply it and type out the essay. Can somebody please help me on this?

The USA had a policy of containing the spread of communism everywhere. They were not going to fight Russia or China but they were going to oppose the spread of communism. This they did in Korea. When communism threatened South Vietnam they were gradually pulled in.
